Before submitting your work to the Silver Gravity Story Awards, please take a moment to review our complete Terms and Conditions and Category Submission Guidelines (the latter to follow shortly). These notes contain essential information about eligibility, formatting requirements, and the submission process.
1. ELIGIBILITY
1.1 The Awards are open to:
• Creators aged 18 and over
• Residents of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland
• Both emerging and established talent
• Individual creators and creative teams
1.2 Submitted works must:
• Be complete and finished works
• Be publicly available in some form (published, broadcast, streamed, or exhibited)
• Have been completed within 24 months prior to submission
• Be in English or include English subtitles/translation
• Be original works or authorised adaptations with proper rights clearance
2. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
2.1 All submissions must include:
• Complete work in specified format
• Creator's biographical information
• Rights declaration
• Synopsis/description (max 500 words)
• Category selection
• Release/availability information.
Please note full details on category submissions will follow early in 2025.
2.2 Works cannot be:
• Concepts or ideas in development
• Incomplete works
• Previously submitted to Silver Gravity Awards
• Works that infringe on any third-party rights
3. RIGHTS AND PERMISSIONS
3.1 By submitting, entrants:
• Warrant they own or have permission to submit the work
• Grant permission for works to be reviewed by judges
• Allow excerpts to be used for promotional purposes
• Retain all original rights to their work
4. JUDGING PROCESS
4.1 Works will be judged on:
• Creative excellence
• Technical proficiency
• Innovation in storytelling
• Cultural impact
• Representative storytelling
4.2 Decisions of the judges are final
6. CATEGORIES AND FORMAT REQUIREMENTS
GENERAL CONDITIONS
6.1 The organisers reserve the right to:
• Verify eligibility of all submissions
• Disqualify entries that breach these terms
• Modify or suspend the awards if necessary
• Reallocate entries to more appropriate categories
6.2 By entering, participants agree to:
• Attend awards ceremony if shortlisted
• Participate in reasonable publicity
• Be contacted regarding their submission
6.3 The organisers reserve the right to:
• Verify eligibility of all submissions
• Disqualify entries that breach these terms
• Modify or suspend the awards if necessary
• Reallocate entries to more appropriate categories
• Present all awards or a selection of awards based on the quality and quantity of entries
• Withhold any award if entries do not meet the required standard
• Adjust award categories based on submission patterns
6.4 By entering, participants agree to:
• Attend awards ceremony if shortlisted
• Participate in reasonable publicity
• Be contacted regarding their submission
• Accept that not all advertised awards may be presented
• Understand that categories may be merged or divided based on entries received
Additional Clarification:
The organisers maintain complete discretion regarding the presentation of awards. While all categories are open for submission, the final awards presented will be determined by:
• The number of qualifying entries received
• The quality of submissions in each category
• The overall spread and balance of entries
• The judges' recommendations
The organisers will communicate any changes to the awards structure to all entrants in a timely manner.
7. DATA PROTECTION
7.1 Personal information will be:
• Used only for awards administration
• Handled in accordance with UK GDPR
• Not shared with third parties without consent
8 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
8.1 The organisers are not responsible for:
• Technical submission problems
• Lost or delayed entries
• Any costs associated with creating or submitting works
9 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
9.1 All intellectual property rights remain with the creators
